French A1 — Meet, Greet, and Get Around

From zero to a CEFR A1 conversation in eight weeks. Practical, oriented to travel and daily life — not endless verb tables. Useful for francophone job markets in MENA and beyond.

About this course

French is the second business language across North Africa, Lebanon, and parts of the Gulf — and a credible job-search advantage in Europe. We start with no assumptions and build to A1 fluency: greetings, numbers, ordering food, asking directions, simple past, and the vocabulary that gets you through a Paris weekend or a Casablanca client meeting.

What you'll cover

  • 1

Sounds, alphabet, and your first 100 words

French sounds without panic. The 100 words that cover 50% of conversation.

  • 2

    Greetings, introductions, and politeness

Bonjour, comment ça va. Tu vs vous. The phrases that signal respect.

  • 3

    Numbers, time, and prices

0-1000. Hours, days, weeks. Asking 'how much' without confusion.

  • 4

    Restaurants and shops

Ordering food, paying, asking for the bill. Polite refusal.

  • 5

    Getting around

Directions, transport, hotels. The phrases tourists actually need.

  • 6

    Talking about yourself

Family, work, hobbies. Simple present in 3 conjugations.

  • 7

Past actions — the simple past

Passé composé. 'I went, I saw, I ate'. Enough to tell yesterday's story.

  • 8

    A1 conversation challenge

    10-minute conversation with the instructor. You're A1.
